Life isn't always easy. Especially if you are a teenager or a parent of a teen. You may find yourself here because you are concerned about your child. Your teen may be losing sleep, refusing to go to school or their grades have dropped. They may have quit a sport that they loved and are missing out on social events and activities and staying home alone in their room. You may be worried because they won't talk to you and you have no idea how to help.
Sometimes teens will ask their parent to talk to someone and that is how you found me. This can be a relief for parents who feel like they are losing control and need support and guidance.
I work with teens to help them make progress towards learning new coping skills and strategies to understand their emotions, improve relationships with family and peers, and manage life's inevitable challenges and conflicts.

I also work with adults who experience anxiety and depression. I know you will do anything to get rid of anxiety and worry and it can significantly impact your life. Avoiding situations, making yourself sick with worry, losing sleep, making mistakes at work due to inability to focus and concentrate are all common complaints. Anxiety is something everyone experiences but when it takes over your life, you need help. Depression reaches it's tentacles into every aspect of your life affecting your mood, the way you think, your relationships, physical health and more. Depression can be successfully treated. My goal for therapy is to offer guidance, support, skills and strategies that you can use long after therapy ends. To me, therapy is more than a place to vent and have someone to talk to. I don't want you to just feel better...I want you to BE BETTER. My approach is to help my clients reflect on how they successfully managed in the past and apply those strengths to their current situation. Reflect on what is really important to them and identify their priorities and values. I will help you or your teen find healthier ways to cope with stress, anxiety or depression and focus on the life that you want to live. Sometimes you need help you to identify the patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that have kept you stuck in your current situation.
